about

Abrasion Tapes results from a long distance, remote collaboration between Melbourne and London initiated during summer 2020. It features the voice of James Worse reciting fragments of his never-to-be-published epic poem 'Flark of the Dandibus'. These 'Worsicles' form part of a multi-layered, hyper-collage of digital artefacts, free improvisation, tape experimentation, and mangled recordings of domestic interiors. As the narrative unfolds, half heard phrases proliferate and recur, spinning off in all directions, caught up in the sonic maelstrom to re-emerge, shaken, yet seemingly undaunted in their strange new sonic surroundings, to continue their elliptical tale.

All proceeds to Mind charity.

From the smouldron of bowbilliant soundwrenching, three specks fly up. Glimmering in flemulous interlocution. Wastful in iridescent mummetry.
